Ever wonder what you could have in common with stars like Pam Anderson, Woody Harrelson, Alicia Silverstone, and Tobey McGuire? Become a vegan, and fame with be yours! Ok, not really. We doubt you're a vegan and also doubt you've given the soy lifestyle a whirl (plus there is more to celebrity than your diet), but maybe it's time to test those vegan waters with a party dedicated to the glorious soybean. So invite some friends, light a few soy based candles and crack open some vegan cookbooks to find out what's soy good about this healthy way of life.

February is National Black History Month. The time is used to recognize important achievements and contributions made by African Americans throughout history. In honor of the observance, why not celebrate African American culture with a Black History party? It's a wonderful opportunity to teach your children about this significant and ongoing chapter of American History.

As January is National Stalking Awareness Month, we'd like to dedicate this party to police officers and firefighters who serve to protect us. We value and respect how serious their jobs are, but we also know they like to have a good time, so get ready to be a little silly.

It's a bird, it's a plane! No, it's just you looking out the train window on your commute home from work dreaming about the next fun costume party you're going to host. Since you just spent the day fantasizing about vaporizing your boss, maybe it's time to dress up like the superhero you know you are. What's nice is that there doesn't need to be a plot of world domination to invite all your superhero friends to come together in one room.

Have you always wanted to join a bowling league but your lack of skills (and possibly sense of pride) is keeping you from doing it? Rather than hitting up the alley tonight, why not try and create league night at home? You don't have to be a kingpin to pull off this great night.

Illinois. For a Midwestern state, it has brought so much joy to so many. Home to the Blues Brothers, Ferris Bueller, Wayne's World, the Chicago Style Hot Dog and Shermer, Illinois (for all you John Hughes fans out there), this unassuming state has brought untold joy to millions over the years. From the lovable loser Chicago Cubs to our current president, Barack Obama, Illinois has quietly pulled its own weight in the middle of the country while the coastal cities of New York and Los Angeles fight for the spotlight. So whip up some Chicago hot dogs or stuffed pizza, crack open an Old Style beer and watch a classic Chicago film.

Although it may not be as fancy as New York or California, Illinois has that "quietly awesome" thing going for it. So crack open an ice-cold Old Style and celebrate.
And as always, remember to bring your camera!

In his 1982 hit, "Jack and Diane," John Mellencamp (at that time John Cougar) ominously sang of "hold[ing] on to 16 as long as you can, changes coming round real soon make us women and men." Well, for most of us, 16 came and went long ago. Feeling a bit nostalgic for your teen years? Why not go back and celebrate the best way we know how? Recreate your sweet 16!

Tiffani Amber Thiessen celebrates her 35th birthday today. To honor the beloved actress who brought to life Kelly Kapowski, we know a Saved by the Bell party is in order. The possibilities of where this event can go are endless. Do we recreate The Max, or maybe set up Mr. Belding's office? Should there be a mention of Miss Bliss? What about The College Year and The New Class? Keeping things a bit more simple and starting small, let's focus on the core six characters and seasons 1 – 5.

Being that a vast majority of Party Remedies' contributors are New Jersey born and raised, we thought it fitting to pay homage to one our state's most gloriously colorful and kitschy treasures – the diner. Whether you're in Jersey, far from home, or just enjoy some good (greasy) comfort food, get ready for a fun night of coffee and conversation.

Hall and Oates. Any child of the 1980's will remember poorly made (by today's standards) music videos that actually featured the artists playing instruments. While this may come as a shock to some, it's true. Daryl Hall and John Oates had six #1 hits in the states with their fusion of Rock and Roll and Rhythm and Blues that they termed "Rock and Soul". While they may be no Air Supply, for many of us who were children of the 80's, their music remains a strong part of the soundtracks of our lives.
