We doubt you're a vegan and also doubt you've given the soy lifestyle a whirl (plus there is more to celebrity than your diet), but maybe it's time to test those vegan waters with a party dedicated to the glorious soybean. So whip up some Chicago hot dogs or stuffed pizza, crack open an Old Style beer and watch a classic Chicago film.

In his 1982 hit, "Jack and Diane," John Mellencamp (at that time John Cougar) ominously sang of "hold[ing] on to 16 as long as you can, changes coming round real soon make us women and men." Well, for most of us, 16 came and went long ago. Feeling a bit nostalgic for your teen years? Why not go back and celebrate the best way we know how? Recreate your sweet 16!

 

Saved by the Bell Party

Tiffani Amber Thiessen celebrates her 35^th birthday today. To honor the beloved actress who brought to life Kelly Kapowski, we know a Saved by the Bell party is in order. Being that a vast majority of Party Remedies' contributors are New Jersey born and raised, we thought it fitting to pay homage to one our state's most gloriously colorful and kitschy treasures – the diner. Whether you're in Jersey, far from home, or just enjoy some good (greasy) comfort food, get ready for a fun night of coffee and conversation.

 

Jersey Shore Party

 

Tonight is the season finale of MTV's Jersey Shore. Get pumped! Be sure to get your gym, tanning, and laundry done early on in the day so you have time to throw this party with all of your guidos and guidettes.

• Crank up the heat- make it feel like summer so your guests are comfortable in their Jersey Shore attire.
• Large Italian flag decorations, maps of New Jersey, Cadillac emblems.
• Use paper plates so no one fights over who does the dishes.
• Make a dance floor area complete with colored and strobe lights.
• Rent a hot tub!

 

FOOD AND DRINK MENU

Lots of Italian food, served in trays, buffet style.

• Appetizer: Antipasto, Italian bread, Pickles (for Snooki)
• Entrée: Spaghetti with Meatballs, Chicken Cutlets

Monthly 80's Party - Hall and Oates

Private Eyes, Are Watching You (clap clap)

Hall and Oates. Any child of the 1980's will remember poorly made (by today's standards) music videos that actually featured the artists playing instruments. While this may come as a shock to some, it's true. Daryl Hall and John Oates had six #1 hits in the states with their fusion of Rock and Roll and Rhythm and Blues that they termed "Rock and Soul". While they may be no Air Supply, for many of us who were children of the 80's, their music remains a strong part of the soundtracks of our lives.
